Let`s take an example of two sets:

X = {20, 22, 24, 26, 28} => the median = 24

X = {18, 22, 28, 28} => the median is the average of the middle two numbers 22 and 28 = 25.

There is no unique value of the median, therefore Statement (1) is not sufficient. The correct answer would be among B/C/E.

Statement (2)

Same cases cited in statement 1 also fit in statement 2, as all the elements are even.

Statement 2 alone is not sufficient, and even combining both the statement does not help.

The correct answer is E.
